As many of you know, I am a ReStore FANATIC. I especially gravitate towards pieces at the Myers Park location and the Chapel Hill store. So many beautiful things and pieces with great potential can be found. Remember my chandelier from the Davidson ReStore? People ask me all the time when they come over where I found it, and I have no shame in sharing!
Often times the ReStore obsession wears on my husband. He's generally a REALLY good sport and for the most part has few opinions of furniture and decor. But in the end, I do think my creative mind and thrifty habits pay off. I won't even tell you what we paid when all was said and done - you would spend more at a Rooms To Go if you catch my drift.
I know, I know. It looks like it fell from the sky out of Granny's house. But the lines, the narrowness of the piece and the cushions were exactly what I was looking for! |
So glad I took my mom's advice and went with something that ties in our rug but is still neutral! |
I still need to find an end table and lamp for the right side of sofa and eventually a coffee table. But I am learning patience pays off and you should buy less and choose wisely! |
And though I temporarily wanted to offer up a free puppy for sale, I reminded myself that it's just things and he is a baby. This club chair along with its mate (ANOTHER Restore Purchase from here) will now have to be recovered. Once they are back from Best Custom I think the room will be just about finished! |
SOURCES:
1. Fabric from Mill Outlet - friends in Raleigh, it's a bit of a hike up Capital but totally worth the trip as it's the largest, and in my opinion, the best value for the quality.
2. Best Custom Upholstery - Only a couple of folks speak English but if you get in good with Yolanda, she will totally hook you up! (TIP: Paying cash and agreeing to pay for work upfront really reduces the cost).
Carter has already made the new sofa his home and loves to watch all the comings and goings on our street from his new throne. Here's to hoping he doesn't find our new fabric as tasty.
