Walker Wedding Weekend

It's come and gone. The food was eaten, the champagne drunk, the sparklers out, and the family and friends back home. Our ceremony and reception are sadly over, but our new life now begins!

As cliche as it sounds, a wedding weekend does go by in a blink of an eye. My Maid of Honor Kendall told me she felt like she was at the church, and five minutes later she was lighting sparklers for our exit.

If there are two things I would love to repeat again, they'd be saying my vows and having our reception. They both came and went s quickly, but were such special moments for both Khaner and me.

Here's a very abbreviated version of the weekend:

Band Together

Natalie and Bryant invited us to join them for the annual Band Together concert, this year raising money for the Tammy Lynn Center - a great cause and good time!

With my wedding a few days away, please pray for sunshine and no thunderstorms!

Weekend Recap

After being cut off from cable and internet for four days, our built-ins are ready! I have to say I am more than pleased with how they turned out.

We celebrated Sarah and Hunt's engagement over the weekend at Babylon. Fun venue with great friends and a wonderful reason to celebrate! Can't wait to celebrate their upcoming wedding in September!

Wedding Countdown

With Khaner and I finishing our premarital sessions at church, picking up our marriage license, and my bachelorette weekend almost here, I am becoming increasingly excited for the wedding! Yesterday some guest favors I had ordered finally arrived at the house.

Bags for hotel guests - with Raleigh being the City of Oaks, and our reception in a lovely courtyard with big trees, I figured it was appropriate

Hand towels for bathroom

Cocktail napkins

The koozies came out darker than I expected, but nonetheless,  I am satisfied with how they turned out.

Cyber Sales

You would think working in e-commerce for the past three years would educate me on how not to fall into a marketer's buying trap. Furthermore, working in email marketing specifically, I would know the purpose of Ann Taylor's most recent subject line of 40% off Everything plus Free Shipping is to get me to convert. Well done, Ann Taylor. You got me.

I do like this color, and I have to say, I don't own many striped pieces in my wardrobe.

Oh wait, I couldn't possibly pass up the gray and yellow striped one, when it IS 40% off. Just saying.

Luckily I have a very easy-going CFO in my household ;)

Wedding Wardrobe

I may or may not be driving my family and friends crazy with my rehearsal dinner dress. I promise I was very un-picky when I found my wedding dress. For some reason, I  have been underwhelmed by the selection of short white dresses among many of the department stores and designers. It's actually made me feel the way Tory Burch did years ago  - the industry is missing, to me, a type of consumer. One who wants a simple, timeless but feminine cut, without all the lace, eyelet and bows I have been seeing.

I stumbled upon this little gem from Warren on King, one of my favorite shops in downtown Charleston.

I think this may be the closest to what I have envisioned.

Thoughts?

Gorgeous Gifts

I haven't been so good about sharing all the beautiful things our family and friends have generously purchased for our engagement and wedding. With our nuptials a few short weeks away, I am getting very excited for the big day!

My sweet Aunt Sheila and Uncle Steve sent us some beautiful entertainment pieces off our registry. I am excited to use them for a Bridemaids brunch my mom is hosting on Friday morning.

Beautiful silver serving tray

Silver and beveled glass beverage server

Looking forward to the big day!
